“THE SCENT-MAKER’S SCENT”

“I always wore the same perfume, and then one day I unwrapped a fresh bottle of it and found the formula had changed – it just wasn’t the same. After searching for my new signature scent for a long while, I decided I would just make it for myself. This is the fragrance that completely embodies me; it is my sense of style and personality in olfactive form. I selected the materials that I love the most – the most exquisite examples the perfumery world has to offer. The gold flakes floating in the formula are actually the least precious of all the materials used in this creation – they are just a bit of fun and are a reference to my sense of humour and how I don’t take anything too seriously. I found that wherever I went, people were asking me “what do you wear”, usually followed by “where can I buy it?”. After holding onto the formula for many years, I decided I would share my scent with a few around the world. I would release 25 bottles for clients in the United Kingdom and 25 for the rest of the world, on my birthday: the 25th of September. Each year we ran out of stock and had to apologise to clients who had missed out. Today, we release 250 to the UK and 250 to the rest of the world, just to satiate demand. Rose, Jasmine and Ylang Ylang form the heart of this creation, counterpointed by a fresh burst of Bergamot, nestling on a dry, spicy base of Clove, Ginger, Cinnamon, Cedarwood, Patchouli, and Oakmoss, the whole softened by Amyris, Orris, Vanilla, Benzoin, Styrax, Labdanum and Ambergris.
