Couto The first formula of the Toothpaste COUTO was registered in the city of Porto in June 13th, 1932, signed by Dr. Alberto Ferreira Couto, pharmacy manager. The doctor, helped by a dentist who was a friend of his, created a toothpaste, with the intention of limiting the widespread cases of gingival recession. Success was guaranteed due to the product’s quality so that still today for the elders in Portugal saying “Couto Paste” is synonymous with toothpaste.

The small production is still in the hands of the last heir of the Coutos, Alberto Gomes da Silva. Tooth-paste COUTO is recommended for daily cleaning of mouth and teeth. It shall be administered with a quality tooth-brush, rubbing teeth and gum-border, so that tooth-paste penetrates in the spaces between the teeth.

The tooth-paste shall be left in contact with the mucous-membrane during one or two minutes, before rinsing the mouth with water. Teeth-cleaning shall be done after every meal and awaking in the morning and before going to bed in the evening. In more serious cases, for example in case the gum does not support the use of tooth-brush, the tooth-paste COUTO can be administered with the fingertip, rubbing softly and leaving it equally for some time in contact with the gum.
