The story of a perfume is often an account of a journey, of an exploration into the world of poetry and legend and this one is no exception...
Gold throughout the ages has always had mythic connotations. Who hasn't dreamed of finding gold, a precious symbol of health, wealth and happiness?

Quartz with its threads of brilliantly colored minerals
Gold as found in its natural and pure state, mythical and magical, but how would this smell?
Comme des Garcons began the journey with Safraline, a molecular derivation of saffron and then composed a poem around it, bringing together ingredients of the highest quality such as the essence of pepperwood and curcuma, the finest coriander, the most luxurious geranium. Adding amber for its color, and incense and patchouli for their ritualistic significance and many other ingredients to create the imaginary smell of gold. The process was by its very nature arbitrary, ruled by the senses. The result is the romanticization of GOLD. As with every perfume, it's just the creation of a dream, to inspire and invigorate.
